WaterWise Education for Primary Schools

WaterWise NSW’s vision is to educate the future generation to value, conserve and protect our most precious resource -water.

We also want children to have fun!

Our big friendly mascot, Whizzy the Water Drop is extremely popular with the littlies. He helps to teach about the amazing water journey (cycle) and to share his favourite water-saving tips.

Children like to get their hands wet and to play and experiment with water. They love getting out of the class room and going on field trips of local water supply facilities.

One of our most popular activities for the older children is playing “leak detectives”. This is a fun way for children to learn about how much water they use everyday.

Our WaterWise Programmes are written by NSW teachers, for NSW teachers. We work with Councils and Local Water Suppliers to develop school programmes about the local water supply.

To save teachers classroom time, we do the planning for them… All our programmes are linked to the curriculum and come complete with lesson plans and assessment sheets.

WaterWise NSW also organises competitions, special Water Week activities, and can book WaterWise Entertainment Shows.

The Pooki Doos™ “It’s Cool to Save Water™” show is a great way to get children singing, dancing and learning about saving water. To see for yourself, click here: Pooki Doos™ promo
